I’m delighted to confirm that I’ll be re-opening most clinics from March 1st 2021. I’ll initially be offering only Botox® and skin peels, adding filler treatments once restrictions are lifted further. I hope to be able to offer filler treatments from April onwards but, as everything is still in a state of flux, this will depend on government guidelines over the next couple of months.
I’ll be continuing to adopt measures such as social distancing and the wearing of PPE equipment for the foreseeable future. Finally, all clients will need to consent to having Botox® for medical reasons. These include conditions such as: chronic headache, excessive sweating, tooth grinding or the fact that your facial appearance significantly affects your mental wellbeing.
I’m extending my offer of a free tube of Tretinoin 0.05% (worth £60) when you have a treatment worth at least £300 (one per client). The offer is dependent on the course of the pandemic but is likely to end on May 31st 2021 for London and Great Tew clients, and on July 31st 2021 for clients in Bath and Scotland.
Tretinoin 0.05% cream
What is it?
This is a prescription strength cream used to treat acne, sun damaged skin and fine wrinkles. Used long term, it makes skin smoother, less wrinkled and reduces the appearance of dark spots.
How does it work?
By promoting rapid exfoliation and by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. It, therefore, makes skin look younger over time.
What side effects should I expect?
You may experience redness, dryness, itching and flaking which will improve as your skin gets accustomed to this cream.
How much should I use?
Start by using a “pea” sized amount only at night on clean skin. If side effects cannot be tolerated, reduce application to alternate day use until symptoms improve.
What precautions do I need to take?
1. You should not use this cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
2. As this product results in photosensitivity, use of a sunscreen (at least SPF 30) is necessary.
3. You should avoid all facial waxing/peels while you are using this product as your skin is more likely to burn.
Dr St John’s comments:
“This cream has been my only night cream for more than ten years. All the scientific evidence points towards this cream being the most anti-ageing preparation that money can buy and I can testify to this from its effects on my own skin.
If you can manage the initial side effects, it is well worth persisting as you will be rewarded with refined, glowing, youthful skin.”
