Todays men & women want to look as good as they feel

As I haven’t been in touch for several months, Id like to extend some special offers for both Botox® and fillers to you with the intention of encouraging you to come along so that I can assess the very best options to make you look your absolute best for spring/summer.

My Bath and Chipping Norton clinics are expanding to the extent that from this month onwards, I intend to trial twice monthly clinics in both locations and I’m open to the option of increasing the frequency of clinics in other locations outside London.

I’m summarising the benefits of two of my most popular prescription products: eyelash enhancement (bimatoprost 0.3mg/ml) and tretinoin 0.05%/0.1% cream.  I now have information/instruction sheets for each which you can read on my website:   http://www.stjohnclinic.co.uk

Finally, I’m delighted to announce that we are now able to take Amex payments with immediate effect.

The popularity of aesthetic medical treatments shows no sign of abating. Having recently become a full member of the British Association of Cosmetic Medicine (BCAM), I wrote an essay giving my views on the importance of Botox® and fillers on our psychology.  I highlighted the fact that these seemingly straightforward treatments can cause problems when administered by inexperienced, non medical practitioners and recommended that aesthetic medicine as a specialty should be given the importance it deserves amongst more traditional areas of medicine. This is available on my website.

Good news – BCAM has been campaigning for some time to ban the use of aesthetic injectable treatments by non medically trained practitioners eg. beauticians.  A step forward, emphasising that the consequences of these treatments must not be trivialised in the young and vulnerable, came in October 2021 with legislation banning the use of all cosmetic injectable treatments on under 18 year olds.

BOTOX® – achieving an optimum, long-lasting effect.
Special offer – receive 20% off your next treatment for every new client you refer who has a treatment at St John Clinic (new clients will also receive 20% off their first treatment).  This represents a saving of £80 for a standard treatment to the frown, forehead and crows’ feet.  Offer ends on 31st August 2022.

I’ve noticed for some time that clients are happiest with stronger doses.  Low doses do not give the brow lift that brings so many of you back for a repeat treatment.   I’m finding that an increasing number of clients report trying cheaper practitioners but having to return several times for top ups  (if indeed they are invited for a free top up, as this is not always offered) because the results are not lasting the expected 4 months.

Please do not equate “strong” with “ unnatural” or “unsafe.”   Botox® is perfectly safe in much higher doses than used on the face.  Consider that far higher doses have been used on the NHS for many years in children with conditions such as cerebral palsy in order to relax spastic muscles.

Balance is important, by which I mean that when Botox® is added to several different areas of the face, your look will be harmonious and rested, not unusual or unnatural.

What I can offer all new and existing clients is a free top up, up to three weeks following your treatment (or at the next available clinic regarding clinics outside London). If your look is optimal at 3 weeks it gives you the best chance of lasting 4 months (or more). I would recommend that you please return if you are not entirely happy with your result.

DERMAL FILLERS
Special offers
  – five fillers for the price of four, when taken within a 6 month period.  Each 1ml filler costs £395.  Receive 20% off your next treatment for every new client you refer who has treatment at St John Clinic (new clients will also receive 20% off their first treatment).  Offer ends on 31st August 2022.

I’d like to encourage a change in perception regarding the importance of fillers.  In experienced hands and delivered by doctors with an eye for what makes a face attractive, fillers can make you look several years younger. The happiest clients I have are those who’ve had ten or more syringes (10ml) over a period of several months/a year.  Please consider that five 1ml fillers equate to the volume of one teaspoon, so the volumes we are talking about are small.  Experienced practitioners do not inject in a random fashion.  We are guided by great plastic surgeons who have coined the phrase “the 8 point lift.”  The key is to use tiny amounts in many different areas of the face to smooth depressions, to provide lift at the jawline and to create an overall harmonious look.

Fillers offer excellent value for money as they usually last one to two years before a top up is necessary.  Moreover, the ones I use (Juvederm) are reversible.  If the effect is not what you want, they can be dissolved within hours/days.

What I can offer you is the same price per syringe wherever the filler is placed, even if in an advanced area, eg. tear trough (many experienced doctors charge double for such areas).  Therefore, we can share a syringe between one or more areas.  An example is subtle lip enhancement with the remainder used, perhaps, to lift the mouth corners.  Total cost – £395.

TRETINOIN 0.05% / 0.1%
I’ve recently reviewed the evidence in support of the anti-ageing effects of this product.  As many of you will know, I’ve long been a supporter of this prescription product which, when used regularly, reverses fine wrinkles, increases blood flow and smooths out unsightly pigmented patches.  It is thought that regular use might also reduce the risk of some types of skin cancer.

I know only too well that the initial side effects can be a bit overwhelming for many of you.  When I personally stop using it before a sunny holiday, my skin peels rapidly once I resume its use.  I see this as “sloughing off old dead skin cells” and is a necessary step towards the quest for beautiful skin.  Ive written an information/instruction sheet on tretinoin which is on my website.  May I suggest that you try tiny amounts twice weekly initially and build up to alternate daily use once your skin becomes more tolerant towards it.

EYELASH ENHANCEMENT  bimatoprost 0.3mg/ml drops – six 3ml bottles for £170
With increasing publicity of this product over the years and celebrities endorsing its lash lengthening/thickening effects, this treatment has become incredibly popular.  Many report benefits on brow hair as well.  Please note that this product has been scientifically proved to work in controlled medical trials.  It is prescription only and you will be required to approve a consent form before using it.

My pricing remains highly competitive.  There are many websites which confuse the purchaser by quoting prices per month’s usage with each bottle assumed to last several months.

This product needs to be used daily for the first three or four months (after which the frequency can be reduced).  When you start using this product, a 3ml bottle will last one month and no more.  Of course, once your lashes have grown, it is likely that maintenance is obtained by twice weekly use (in which case each bottle might last you several months).

Do please compare my prices per ml with bimatoprost 0.3mg/ml with those from other clinics.

Prices:
One 3ml bottle:  £45
Two 3ml bottles: £85
Six 3ml bottles:   £170
Applicator brushes included.  P&P £5

TWICE MONTHLY CLINICS IN BATH AND CHIPPING NORTON
These clinics have expanded rapidly over the past few years.  I feel that clients in these locations would best be served by more frequent clinics so that new clients in particular do not have to wait a month before I’m able to check/fine tune their treatments.  I’m going to trial clinics in Bath mainly on the first and third Thursday of each month and in Chipping Norton on the first and third Friday of each month.

I’m delighted to announce my new Chipping Norton clinic address: 22A New Street, Chipping Norton, OX7 5LJ, which is in the centre of this beautiful town.  Easy to find and with ample free parking close by.

Future dates
Bath clinics:  March 17th, April 7th, April 21st, May 5th, May 19th.
